Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide the finest quality continuing education programs for all dentists, dental hygienists, and auxiliary personnel throughout West Virginia and to coordinate continuing education activities of the WV Dental Association, WV Dental Hygienists Association, WV Academy of General Dentistry and specialty groups throughout our state.

The WVU School of Dentistry Continuing Education Program will:

1. provide the stimulus and mechanism for the general dentist, specialist dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant, dental laboratory and x-ray technician, staff, students, faculty and physicians to maintain and increase their competence in the provision of dental care for both general and special areas of practice.
2.  provide the people of our state and other states with access to the most current techniques and methods of treating oral disease by furnishing a base for the continuing education of dental practitioners and auxiliaries in the region.
3. make a significant contribution to WVU's function of service by providing an outreach of professional education and development to the community of dental practitioners and auxiliaries.
