Objectives
Discuss the definition of measurement-based care (MBC), advantages of MBC, criteria of MBC tools, and barriers to MBC implementation in clinical practice
Describe the types of psychiatric measures such as screening questionnaires, diagnostic interviews (fully-structured vs. semi-structured), and rating scales (clinician-report vs. self-report)
Recognize scales that are commonly used in MBC such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ), Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and other scales
Identify the psychometric properties of measures such as validity (content, criterion, and construct validity), reliability (inter-rater, test-retest, and internal consistency reliability), and important indices (sensitivity, specificity, Kappa statistic)
Recognize the Standard for Clinicians’ Interview in Psychiatry (SCIP) principles of assessment of psychopathology and the SCIP scales
