Target Audience
This course is intended for oncology nursing staff from WVUH or WVUHS hospital (LPN, RN, NP).
Course Objectives
After this course, attendees should be able to:
Apply foundational principles of oncology to enhance clinical skills and elevate patient care.
Describe the historical trends, challenges, and advancements in cancer within West Virginia’s healthcare landscape.
Implement strategies for improving personal wellness, reducing burnout, and fostering resilience in their nursing practice.
Integrate knowledge of genetics into oncology practice, including understanding genetic risk factors and advances in genetic counseling.
Identify and evaluate new cancer medications and their applications in patient treatment plans.
Anticipate and prepare for future developments in cancer care in West Virginia, including emerging treatments, technology advancements, and collaborative care initiatives.
